The Engineering & Manufacturing division of SF Recruitment is currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to join one of our clients on a permanent basis at their UK site in the Huddersfield area. This role would suit a technically minded manufacturing professional looking to take the next step with a company wanting to invest, improve and drive the site forward across all operational areas.

Scope of the role:

• Overall responsibility for operations-based teams across production, warehouse, maintenance and quality.
• Ensure working standards and health & safety are met the site.
• Collaborating with the leadership team to drive improvements across the facility.  
• Highlight operational areas for improvement – looking at skill gaps / training / waste / productivity / PPM scheduling.
• Using lean manufacturing tools to provide solutions to areas of concern.

Candidate Specification

• Has a technical background such as engineering or quality.
• Ideally educated to HND level in engineering or an equivalent technical subject.
• Currently working in an operational / production leadership role within manufacturing.
• Has a strong shop-floor presence, teamed with a drive to implement positive change and operational improvements.
• Has a clear idea of ‘what good looks like’ and the confidence to influence.
